Why Protein Absorption?

Protein is often called the building block of life because it is found everywhere in our body, our cells, bones, muscles, blood, hormones. It plays a crucial role in many bodily functions, including mobility, immune, skin health, brain function, and energy production. For protein to work effectively in our bodies after being consumed through food, it must be properly digested and absorbed.

BC30™ and Protein Absorption

BC30™ produces digestive enzymes which break down proteins into peptide and amino acids. It also enhances protein absorption by modulating gut microbiota and increasing enzyme availability in the gut. Clinical studies demonstrate that BC30™ significantly increases the serum maximum concentration of total amino acids (TAA) and essential amino acids (EAA) from both dairy and plant-based proteins.

  • BC30™ significantly increases the serum maximum concentration of total amino acids and essential amino acids from both dairy and plant-based proteins.
  • Consuming BC30™ significantly increased the peak concentration of total and essential amino acids, signaling increased absorption of the dairy protein.
  • Consuming BC30™ with Ultranor, Kerry’s nutritional milk protein concentrate, also led to significantly higher maximum concentrations of 10 individual amino acids in the blood.
  • BC30™ increased essential amino acids (EAA) by 6.6% and total amino acids (TAA) by 7.2%. Specific AAs like Arginine and Isoleucine showed notable improvements.

For plant proteins, BC30 increased EAA by 5.3% and TAA by 4.5%, with notable increases in Alanine, Ornithine, Tryptophan, and Cysteine.
