“I wanted the best probiotics,” said Kim. “Many manufacturers were claiming that they met the live and active culture qualifications set by the National Yogurt Association, yet I knew that not all probiotics are the same. I wanted a solution that allowed Red Mango yogurt to exceed the qualifications, and that’s where BC30 came in. Its probiotic survivability and science made perfect sense for Red Mango.”

BC30 is unique. Inside each cell is a hardened structure, or spore, which is similar to a seed. This spore serves as a natural protective shield against the heat and pressure of manufacturing and the strong acids in the stomach allowing it to arrive alive and then thrive in your intestines—the intended target.

“Other traditional probiotic bacteria such as lactobacillus, acidophilus and bifidobacteria are not able to form these protective spores, making them more vulnerable to manufacturing processes and stomach acid,” said Kim.

Today, Red Mango is the only frozen yogurt retailer in the US whose yogurt contains BC30. In addition to BC30, it also contains live and active cultures streptococcus thermophilus, lactobacillus bulgaricus, lactobacillus lactis, and lactobacillus acidophilus at amounts that exceed the recommendations made by the National Yogurt Association. Independent USDA-certified laboratories have shown that Red Mango frozen yogurt meets all probiotic criteria adopted by the National Yogurt Association. As a result, Red Mango became the first natural frozen yogurt retailer to receive the coveted Live and Active Culture seal certification from the National Yogurt Association.
